Zen Flowers - Arrangements in Harmony™
The Zen Flowers style of flower arrangement was invented by Harumi Nishi (the principle of zenflowers.com) many years ago. Zen Flowers arrangements appeal to all, everywhere. The style represents the fusion of West and Eastern design philosophies to create natural work that crosses national and cultural boundaries.
Our book "Zen Flowers" was published in London, New York and Paris in 2001. The book has been exalted as a critical work in flower arrangement around the world and has reached the status of a standard text - required reading for any modern flower designer. In 2008, our second book "Japanese Flower Arranging" was published with a collection of innovative flower designs and the very latest flower arrangements can be found through our courses.
At Zen Flowers you will learn the essence of Zen Flowers Style, the secret of flower designs with world appeal, the secret of harmony and self healing.
Ki種・Sho芽・Ten花・Ketsu実™ Flower Philosophy
Our courses have a unique 4 section structure called Ki種・Sho芽・Ten花・Ketsu実™ designed to shelter and guide you through your growth as a professional flower designer.
Ki種 is the start stage where fresh new life begins to sprout. With Ki種 your heart will settle and find its center. You will discover a new perspective in flower arrangement while rejoicing in the traditional.
Sho芽 and Ten花 are intermediary levels. Sho芽 represents strong stems, the foundation from where the future blossoms. Sho芽 is where inspiration grows. In Sho芽 you will create a foundation of pure beauty, a beauty loved by all with a place and value everywhere. Ten花 is the flowers blooming, the closed ovals spread to form circles of harmonious light. In Ten花 you will deepen your knowledge, building on your ability until your work finds its harmony.
Ketsu実 is where the flowers of Ten花 bear fruit. The fruit can grow in the shelter of its parent until it is strong enough to make fruit of its own. After Ketsu実 you will be ready to begin your own growth experience.
